Details: Queen’s Share rum was known to be the best barrels in a distillery & reserved for royalties special occasions. It takes meticulous distilling, additional cut collection, re-distillation, & extended aging to fulfill its promise of dense flavor & plush texture. Sadly it became a victim of bottom lines & large volume manufacturing. We take great pride in being a part of this traditional rum’s revival.

The history of the Bottled in Bond category is rooted in transparency and truth in labeling, an issue we at Privateer are passionate about. Back in the 1800’s, bartenders and spirits lovers were angered that so many products on the market were branded as “authentic” and “hand-crafted” spirits but were, in fact, made by large factory spirits rectifiers and packaged in a disingenuous way. The US Government responded in 1897 by issuing the regulations for labeling a product Bottled In Bond. The spirit must be distilled by a single distiller, in a single season, at a single distillery, aged no less than 4 years at a federally bonded warehouse, and bottled at 100 proof at the same distillery.

Richly textured, deep, and layered with macadamia nuts, dried golden raisin, singed cinnamon, walnut, tobacco, and bruleé. The luscious texture brings immense weight, the finish lingers and perfumes the back palate with toasted almonds, honey, and green figs. Defined by its density and heft, this rum is well knit and avoids becoming spread thin ultimately showing elegance and grace for the power.
